As a Health Alliance associate, how can I benefit from AllianceRx: Mail Order?

  • Your costs will be lower – AllianceRx: Mail Order is designed to lower your costs as well as the overall pharmaceutical care cost incurred by the Health Alliance. In most instances, the amount you pay for your prescription will be reduced.
  • Quick turn-around time – The expected turn around time for the process is seven business days. AllianceRX: Mail Order will generally process the prescription within 48 hours of receipt then mail the prescription directly to the address listed on your enrollment form.
  • It’s convenient – The prescription will be mailed directly to your home (unless another address is listed on your AllianceRX: Mail Order enrollment form).

How does AllianceRx: Mail Order work?
First, you must complete an enrollment form for the program. Enrollment forms are available in all Health Alliance human resource departments and online.

Next, have your prescriptions sent to the AllianceRX pharmacy.

  • You may send the enrollment form and your prescriptions together; this will save you time.

What happens if I accidentally forget to request a refill and my medicine runs out before the one-week turnaround time it takes AlliancRX to fill and send my medication?
If you have less than a one-week supply left of your medication and you realize you've forgotten to request a refill, you may use an older prescription you have at Kroger and get it filled. If this option does not work for you, call AllianceRx for possible alternatives.

Will AllianceRx: Mail Order save me money?
AllianceRx: Mail Order will use the discounts offered to Health Alliance pharmacies by manufacturers and share them with associates. The actual discount will depend on the medication and the quantity selected. In general, the program has been designed to save associates between $3 and $5 per prescription.  See how this savings can add up.

How do I receive medication discounts if I am not a member of AllianceRx: Mail Order?
Low prices are offered to all associates at the Health Alliance outpatient pharmacies. Associates who are not enrolled in a prescription benefit plan receive low prescription prices at the Health Alliance pharmacies. However, if you have a prescription benefit from a provider other than the Health Alliance, your cost will generally be lower when using your prescription benefit card at designated pharmacies. Can I receive a three-month or more supply of medication?
The Health Alliance Select plan permits a three-month supply of medications to be dispensed to you for many maintenance medications. Click here to review the medications in which a greater than one-month supply is permissible. (Please note that all prescriptions filled through AllianceRx: Mail Order will be subject to the appropriate co-pay amounts as determined by the Health Alliance Select plan).

Can I transfer a prescription from my current pharmacy?
At this time, AllianceRx cannot accept a transfer prescription because mail order is set up for 90-day supplies with refills. The simplest solution is to ask your doctor for a new written prescription.
