Welcome to Greater Cincinnati

Situated in the Ohio Valley and surrounded by seven hills, Cincinnati has been chosen repeatedly as one of the most livable cities in the United States. An exciting place to live and work, Cincinnati serves as the economic and cultural hub for millions of people, thanks to our unique location on the Ohio River, bordering Kentucky and Indiana. Our sound, stable economic base fosters a cultural diversity remarkable for a city this size. We have more cultural, culinary, entertainment and historical attractions than other cities this size.

Culture

Music Hall, built in the late 19th century and recently refurbished, serves as home to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, as well as the May Festival Chorus and the Cincinnati Opera. During the summer, the symphony moves to the banks of the Ohio River for programs at Riverbend Music Center, which also presents a wide variety of popular, rock and folk artists. In addition, the University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music features excellent performing facilities, particularly for chamber music and vocal groups. The Aronoff Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Cincinnati attracts national touring companies for major Broadway productions and is home to the Cincinnati Ballet.

Eden Park, located in the hills close to downtown, houses more Cincinnati culture including the nationally recognized Playhouse in the Park, which offers professional repertory theater. The Cincinnati Art Museum features an excellent collection and is noted as one of the 10 finest general art museums in the U.S. And, Krohn Conservatory is home to 1,500 specimens of tropical plants and seasonal floral displays.

Sports

Major league sports fans flock to Great American Ballpark to see the Cincinnati Reds, baseball’s first professional team. Also on the riverfront is Paul Brown Stadium, home to the Cincinnati Bengals football team. If you prefer participating, instead of being a spectator, then the Hamilton County Park District system has just what you need . . . golf, tennis, hiking, jogging, and more found in more than 16 parks. Other sports attractions include several thoroughbred racetracks, the Tennis Masters Series Cincinnati in Mason and the new Kentucky Speedway in Northern Kentucky.

Other Attractions

The Cincinnati Zoo (dubbed by Newsweek Magazine as the world’s sexiest zoo because of its wild animal breeding program) is a major attraction as well as the Newport Aquarium and Paramount’s Kings Island, the number one seasonal theme park in the United States. Greater Cincinnati is known for its fine dining and has more stars from Mobil Guide than many other cities its size.

Northern Kentucky

The Greater Cincinnati airport is located in Northern Kentucky, but the airport is not the busiest place in Northern Kentucky. Close to the airport is Turfway Park, presenting some of the finest thoroughbred racing in the nation. And, Kentucky Speedway is packing in its 65,000 seat grandstand with a variety of events. The riverfront area is continuing to expand, and includes many restaurants, the brand new Newport on the Levee entertainment district, the Newport Aquarium and several retail and entertainment venues.

Hamilton, Ohio / Butler County

Recently, Money Magazine ranked the Hamilton area as the number one place to live in Ohio based on factors such as cost of living and quality of life. Embodying their zeal for the arts is the $5 million Fitton Center for Creative Arts, a multi-arts facility dedicated to bringing the best in performing and visual arts to residents and guests alike. Hamilton is also among the best in the nation for quality and value of its public golf courses. The Great Miami River affords a natural playground of unlimited resources for water sports, fishing, boating or just enjoying the scenery.
