Referral Bonus The Referral Bonus program awards associates referring friends who are hired with a $50 gift certificate for each new associate hired or a cash bonus award for difficult-to-fill positions. The referring associate's name will be entered into a quarterly referral awards drawing. One lucky winner each quarter will receive a check for $5,000.
The Referral Program awards gift certificates of $50 to associates when candidates are referred and hired. If the candidate will be working in a difficult-to-fill position, a referral bonus payment is made. Positions considered "difficult-to-find" include:
A flat referral bonus of $2,500 will be paid for referring a full-time associate (.8 FTE and above) or $1,250 for referring a part-time associate (.5 to .7 FTE). No bonus is offered for referring an associate who is less than .5 FTE. *See exceptions noted above. Health Alliance scholarship recipients are excluded from the associate Referral Bonus Program. Referral bonuses are paid in two equal installments: one payment when the associate begins employment and the second payment six months thereafter (providing both associates are still actively employed). 2. How does this referral program work? When you refer someone to any of our service locations and they are hired, you will receive either a gift certificate or a bonus payment. Bonus payments will be issued only for difficult-to-fill positions as outlined above. In addition, your name will be entered for a special $5,000 raffle award to be presented quarterly. 3. Am I only eligible for the $5,000 drawing if I refer a candidate for one of the difficult-to-recruit positions? No, you are eligible for the drawing for any candidate you refer who starts to work at the Alliance, including those who work in difficult-to-fill positions and those working in any other Alliance position. 4. How do I participate? Simply obtain your Rise and Shine Referral Form in Human Resources, or print form from the Internet and Intranet sites. Fill out the form and ask the candidate to submit it when submitting a resume or an application to the Health Alliance. If the candidate is hired, Human Resources will issue your gift certificate or process the first half of your bonus payment. Each quarter Human Resources will draw one name to win $5,000.Remember, the form must accompany the candidate's application or resume to be considered for this program. Since bonus payments are paid in two installments, you and the associate you referred must be active on the payroll six months from the date of hire of the new associate. 5. Can I just tell anyone to apply and receive referral bonuses? Yes, but if you want to receive a bonus gift certificate or payment and be entered into the quarterly drawing, you must complete the Rise and Shine referral form and attach it to the referral's resume or application prior to sending it to Human Resources. No credit will be given to associates without this form being provided at the time of application. 6. Can I refer more than one candidate? Absolutely! You can supplement your income, plus increase your chances of winning the quarterly drawing. 7. How many times am I eligible to receive the bonus and be entered in the raffle? There is no limit to the number of candidates you can refer, as long as you submit the form at the time the application is received in Human Resources. 8. Do you mean that if I refer 50 individuals who are hired by the Health Alliance, I will receive 50 separate bonus awards and 50 entries for the quarterly raffle? YES! However, your 50 individuals hired are entered for that quarter's drawing only. You start over each new quarter. 9. Will the entries in the first-quarter drawing be considered for the other quarters' drawings? No. Each drawing will be separate. If you refer a candidate who starts to work in the first quarter, you will be eligible for that quarter's drawing only. 10. Am I eligible for the referral bonus payment and the $5,000 drawing if the person is a former Health Alliance associate? Yes, you will be eligible for the referral bonus if the former associate's break in service exceeds 18 months. 11. Is the cash prize taxable? Cash bonus payments including both the bonus referral payment and the $5,000 prize are taxable income. Gift certificate awards are non-taxable. 12. Where can I get a referral form? Get your Rise and Shine Referral Form in Human Resources, and on both the Internet and Intranet sites. Fill out the form and ask the candidate to submit it when submitting a resume or an application to the Health Alliance. |
