If you’re over age 50, you can take advantage of the many health care
programs and resources available through Senior Care Preferred Plus (SCPP).
This hospital membership program includes a broad scope of services ranging
from prescription drug and eyewear discounts to educational programs and health
screenings. Senior Care Preferred Plus is designed to meet the needs of adults
in today's complex health care environment.
Senior Care Preferred Plus is not an insurance program. However,
members can receive assistance with filing insurance claims and managing their
Medicare coverage. Sign up today to receive all the benefits listed below for

TV and Phone While an Inpatient
All SCPP members receive
television and telephone services at no extra charge
when an inpatient at a Health Alliance hospital (Christ,
University, Jewish, St. Luke, Fort Hamilton, and Drake
Center) for an average savings of $8/day.

Health
Insurance Counseling
Professional insurance coordinators
help members understand how Medicare works, and help to
evaluate supplemental insurance, managed care (HMO) and long-term care
insurance policies. These specialists also help to work out problems
when they occur.

Senior Community
Resource Guide
Available to members upon request, this handbook,
developed by Cincinnati Area Senior Services, is a comprehensive
guide to resources available to seniors in Greater Cincinnati and
Northern Kentucky. |
Physician
and Community Referrals
The Senior Care Preferred Plus staff stands ready
to help members find the appropriate resource to meet a particular
need, including home health care, community health care services, medical
supplies and equipment, wellness information, support groups and other
community resources. |
Health
Screenings
Senior Care Preferred Plus members are eligible
for periodic health screenings conducted by health care
personnel |
Wellness
and Educational Programs
Physicians and other health care professionals
provide members with the latest health care information at educational
programs held throughout the year. In addition, a variety of recreational
programs, including parties, picnics, dances, and local and regional
travel are offered. A quarterly calendar of events is sent to members

Travel
Opportunities
Members are eligible to attend a number
of day and overnight trips scheduled throughout the year.
Past trips have included excursions ranging from the Longaberger
Basket Company and local Amish communities to New York

Introduction
to Computers and the Internet
These classes give members a hands-on introduction
to the basics of computers and how to use the Internet.
Classes are held twice a month, every other month.

A Place for Mom
SCPP members have access to
the nation’s largest eldercare referral
service, A Place for Mom. They provide seniors and families
with one-on-one guidance and assistance with resources
about senior housing and eldercare options.

Prescription
Discounts through Kroger Prescription Plans
SCPP members save on prescriptions
exclusively at any neighborhood Kroger Pharmacy. Members receive the
lowest prescription discount drug prices available at Kroger Pharmacies
in Cincinnati and nationwide. Savings are also available via a convenient
mail order service called Postal Prescription Services (PPS) that will
send up to a 90-day supply of prescriptions directly to a member's
home. Discounts vary, depending on prescription. |

Alliance Gift Shop & Cafeteria
Members receive discounts at all
Health Alliance hospital gift shops and cafeterias,
including one free meal coupon worth up to $5.

Services
Senior Care Preferred Plus offers two ways
to save money on dental services. Using Cincinnati Dental
Services or one of our participating dentists, members
can save up to 20 percent.

Discounts of up to 20 percent also are available

of LifelineTM
Emergency Response System FREE
A 24-hour emergency response system is recommended
for those living alone who may be concerned about their
safety. Senior Care Preferred Plus members can have
Lifeline installed for free ($40 savings) and be
comforted that help is just a moment away. More

SCPP offers members discounted prices on non-Medicare
covered home health care services, such as home health aids, homemakers

Services Referral Network
HOCOA: Home Owners Club of America,
a home services referral network, offers SCPP members
50 percent discounted memberships. HOCOA provides assistance by phone
or online 24 hours/day for anything from maintenance and repairs
to caterers for parties.

Legal Services
Members have access to
professional legal services when they need them through
this creative program. For a low monthly fee, Pre-paid
Legal Services, Inc., offers members assistance on a
variety of legal issues, including estate planning,
contract reviews, bankruptcy, traffic tickets, will

Car Program
SCPP members may receive up to or over a 15 percent
discount on Hertz or Avis standard daily,
weekly, weekend and monthly rates at participating Hertz and Avis locations
in the United States.

special physical needs. SCPP members will receive a 10
percent discount on any item sold in the store, located
