 About Alliance Primary Care

Alliance Primary Care is one of Greater Cincinnati’s largest primary care physician group, with more than 75 internal medicine, family medicine and pediatric physicians practicing in numerous locations throughout the region. All of our physicians are board certified or board eligible. The organization was founded in 1996 with the merger of the primary care groups of the member Health Alliance hospitals.

Through the diversity of our physicians, mid-level practitioners and associates, who are among the area’s most respected, Alliance Primary Care offers a wide range of services. Our physicians are board certified or board eligible in internal medicine, combined internal medicine and pediatrics, family medicine and geriatrics.  Many of our physicians also are involved in the teaching of medical students and residents through the Health Alliance residencies and the College of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati.

Senior Care Physicians is the geriatric division within Alliance Primary Care that is comprised of geriatricians who provide care to the elderly in the outpatient, post acute and acute care settings. These physicians work in conjunction with mid-level practitioners, social workers and nurse gerontology specialists to provide care to this ever-growing segment of our population. Many of the physicians in this division serve as medical directors at area nursing homes.

Our practice philosophy is simple: we believe that the best medical care comes from letting our physicians establish strong relationships with their patients. This patient-centered focus emphasizes the importance of each individual practice site.

Physician leadership

We pride ourselves on the inclusion of our physician leadership to guide the decision making of the group. Alliance Primary Care has several physician committees that provide oversight and direction of quality and cost-effectiveness initiatives. These groups have developed ongoing programs to monitor and improve performance in areas of patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, disease management and practice improvement.

Physician satisfaction

The satisfaction of our physicians and mid-level providers is a top priority within Alliance Primary Care. We continually make strong efforts, through quarterly regional meetings and regular correspondence, to keep open the doors of communication and to encourage more physician involvement in all areas of the organization.

The Resources of the Health Alliance

As part of the Health Alliance, Alliance Primary Care has ties to a vast and respected system of resources—hospitals and physicians—that provide the communities of Greater Cincinnati with high quality, cost-effective, accessible care.

The Health Alliance covers the entire Greater Cincinnati region. Our six hospitals—The Christ Hospital, The University Hospital, The St. Luke Hospitals, The Jewish Hospital and The Fort Hamilton Hospital—include both teaching programs and acute care centers. The Health Alliance also is associated with the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

These facilities offer the broadest range of medical and surgical services in the area, including a Level 1 trauma center, air care services, cardiac care services with the area’s only heart transplantation program, women’s health services with the area’s first Level 3 perinatal center, oncology and bone marrow transplant services, orthopedics, neuroscience and behavioral medicine, as well as a wide variety of primary care and wellness programs of which Alliance Primary Care is an integral component.
