The dietitians at The Jewish Hospital Cholesterol Center have compiled this booklet to help you follow a low fat, low cholesterol diet. It includes helpful information, label-reading guidelines, ingredient substitutions, and tips on dining out.
The dietary guidelines are intended for adults, adolescents and children over the age of two. They are healthy for people with high, as well as normal, cholesterol levels.
If you have heart disease and/or risk factors in addition to high cholesterol, you will benefit from a more detailed instruction given by a registered dietitian. This booklet will, however, help you get started.
