Family Benefits

In 1999, the Health Alliance received the Excellence Award for Family Friendly Employers awarded by Comprehensive Community Childcare (4C). We recognize that work and family responsibilities can sometimes be difficult to manage and we provide information and services to help our associates balance them.

Adoption Assistance Program

The Health Alliance Adoption Assistance Program helps associates in their efforts to adopt a child. The Health Alliance will reimburse eligible adoption-related expenses:

  Per Child Special needs child
Full-time associates Maximum $3,000 Maximum $4,000
Part-time associates Maximum $1,500 Maximum $2,000

Note: Benefit limited to two adoptions per family.

Who is Eligible

All full-time and part-time associates regularly scheduled to work at least 40 hours a pay period are eligible for adoption benefits if they have at least 12 months of service before the expense is incurred. Associates are eligible for Family Medical Leave (FML) for the placement of a child for adoption if they meet the eligibility and service requirements outlined in the Health Alliance Leave of Absence Policy. Associates not eligible for FML who are off work for the adoption of a child will be eligible for personal leave.

Child Care Discounts

Many child care providers throughout the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area offer discounts to Health Alliance associates through the RESOURCE(c) card program. For a complete listing call Alliance Employee Assistance at 585-6100, the RESOURCE(c) card at 569-DEAL or check with your Human Resources Department. All services are provided on a space-available basis and the Health Alliance cannot recommend or guarantee availability of any particular child care setting.

Family Information and Services

The Health Alliance Family Information and Services program has been contracted through Comprehensive Community Child Care (4C), 221-0033, a local agency. This service offers:

All Health Alliance associates, spouses and domestic partners are eligible for this service.

Cost of Coverage

The Health Alliance pays the full cost of coverage for Family Information and Services. You pay nothing.

KidKare at St. Luke Hospital

When you don’t want to leave your sick child at home, KidKare at St. Luke Hospital could be the answer. KidKare is located in the pediatric unit at St. Luke Hospital East where care is available from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, on a space-available basis. (Note: Children with contagious illnesses may not qualify for this care.)

Who is Eligible

This service is available to all Health Alliance associates.

Cost of Coverage

The cost to Health Alliance associates is $3 per hour and you must call ahead to check space availability, 572-3610.

Wee Care at The Fort Hamilton Hospital

Understanding the special needs of working parents, The Fort Hamilton offers a program that provides safe, comfortable, affordable care for sick children 24 hours per day, 7 days per week on a space-available basis. The professional hospital staff is experienced in caring for sick children, ages 6 weeks to 12 years old, and accustomed to providing the kind of care you want for your child. (Note: Children with contagious illnesses may not qualify for this care.)

The service is available to all Health Alliance associates.

Cost of Coverage

The cost to Health Alliance associates is $3 per hour for the first 8 hours of service and $2 per hour for each additional hour. Pre-registration is required and at least one hour notice prior to utilizing the service. For assistance and more information, call 867-2682.
