While Long-Term Disability (LTD) insurance provides income protection to the insured person if they become disabled, Long-Term Care Insurance is designed to pay a portion of expenses related to nursing and home health care.

This insurance is fully underwritten which means that a full medical history is required at the time of application.

Cost of Coverage

The discounted cost of coverage varies depending on the individuals covered, selection of coverage amount, length of time the benefit is paid, and the waiting period before the benefit begins. Premiums are deducted on an after-tax basis from every paycheck.

The Health Alliance Benefits Department and Employee Health Department work together to coordinate your benefits, manage effective care for you and reduce your time away from work for illness or injury. A team of benefits and Employee Health specialists are available to answer your questions related to:

Call your Employee Health Department any time you will be off work for more than five days or 40 scheduled hours for medical reasons. The 5 days off or 40 hours off is pro-rated for part-time associates.
