In 1999, the Health Alliance received the Excellence Award for Family Friendly Employers awarded by Comprehensive Community Childcare (4C). We recognize that work and family responsibilities can sometimes be difficult to manage and we provide information and services to help our associates balance them.
Adoption Assistance Program
The Health Alliance Adoption Assistance Program helps associates in their efforts
to adopt a child. The Health Alliance will reimburse eligible adoption-related
expenses:
|
Per Child |

Full-time associates |
Maximum $3,000 |
Maximum $4,000 |
Part-time associates |
Maximum $1,500 |
Maximum $2,000 |
Note: Benefit limited to two adoptions per family.
Who is Eligible
All full-time and part-time associates regularly scheduled to work
at least 40 hours a pay period are eligible for adoption benefits if they have
at least 12 months of service before the expense is incurred. Reimbursement
will be made when adoption is finalized, provided the associate is actively
at work. Associates are eligible for Family Medical Leave (FML) for the placement
of a child for adoption if they meet the eligibility and service requirements
outlined in the Health Alliance Leave of Absence Policy. Associates not eligible
for FML who are off work for the adoption of a child will be eligible for personal
leave.
Child Care Discounts
At times, The Health Aliance is successful in obtaining decounted child
care provider services. Information on discounted services is typically announced
through our regular newsletter communications and is available through the Alliance
Benefit Department. The Health Alliance does not recommend or guarantee that
space is available at any of the publicized child care providers.
Associates are also encouraged to contact Comprehensive Community Child Care (4C), a community-sponsored organization that allows free access to their child care provider database as well as tips and guidelines on establishing a good relationship with your child care provider.
