Transplant Services

The Health Alliance provides a comprehensive solid organ adult transplant program that comprises kidney transplantation at The Christ Hospital and liver, kidney, simultaneous kidney/pancreas, pancreas and at The University Hospital. This program has a 32-year history of success in transplantation with some of its patients holding world records for survival. Because of its long history, this academic program has physicians who are involved in research and have years of experience, resulting in advanced treatments for transplant rejection that benefit patients. This leading edge program recently included adult-to-adult living liver donor transplantation and routinely provides laparoscopic living donor transplantation. In addition, a significant research initiative is underway in islet cell transplantation for diabetic patients.
