Reflexology
What is Reflexology?

Reflexology has been practiced for thousands of years, but the healing affects of reflexology were introduced to the Western world in the early 1900s. Scientists observed that congestion or tension in any part of the foot mirrors congestion or tension in a corresponding part of the body. Thus, when you treat the big toes there is a related effect in the head, and treating the whole foot can have a relaxing and healing effect on the whole body.

How does reflexology work?
Sensitive, trained hands can detect tiny deposits and imbalances in the feet, and by working on these points the reflexologist can release blockages and restore the free flow of energy to the whole body.

What to expect at your first visit.
A typical treatment will last for approximately one hour, but the course of treatment will vary based on the body's needs. After a brief consultation, your therapist will begin to work on your feet and/or hands depending on the problem areas. Although you may feel some discomfort, the general sensation is pleasant and soothing.

Conditions for which reflexology is used:

  • headaches
  • chronic pain
  • sports injuries
  • arthritis
