Health Alliance hospitals recognized for safety by Ohio Hospital Association

Date: 5-30-2007Cincinnati --The Christ Hospital, University Hospital, The Jewish Hospital, Fort Hamilton Hospital and Drake Center were recently recognized for their successful hospital safety programs and superior employee safety records by the Ohio Hospital Safety Campaign, sponsored by the Ohio Hospital Association (OHA).
Hospitals were divided into groups based on the number of employees. The Christ Hospital was recognized as having the lowest injury rate in the 2,501 to 4,000 employee group. University Hospital was honored as the hospital with the lowest rate in the 4,001-plus group, Fort Hamilton Hospital in the 1,001-1,500 category, and Drake Center for the 751 to1,000 group. The Jewish Hospital was among 17 hospitals statewide to be recognized as a "top 20 percent" winner.
For 54 years, the OHA Statewide Hospital Safety Campaign has recognized successful hospital safety programs and superior employee safety records. The safety awards were created in 1953 by the Ohio Hospital Association and the Industrial Commission of Ohio to promote workplace safety.
