The University Hospital has been named a top 100 hospital in the category of major teaching hospitals nationwide by Solucient. This is the fourth time that University Hospital has made the list. The University Hospital is the only Ohio hospital named within the major teaching hospital category. "Being named a top 100 teaching hospital is a great honor for University Hospital and the UC Medical Center," says James Kingsbury, executive director of The University Hospital. "It further recognizes the terrific referral center University Hospital and its physicians offer to this region." For 11 years, Solucients's 100 top Hospitals®: Benchmarks for Success program has been setting the standard for hospital performance by identifying the top achievers in the industry, using a national comparative balanced-scorecard approach. Solucient maintains the nation's largest health care database comprising more Health Alliance hospitals make Solucient Top 100 Hospitalsthan 22.6 million discharges per year from 2,900 hospitals, representing 77.5 percent of all discharges.
