CINCINNATI - Sheetal Malik, MD, has joined the The Neuroscience Institute at the University of Cincinnati and University Hospital as Assistant Professor of Neurology. Dr. Malik, a specialist in epilepsy, was previously Director of the Epilepsy Clinic at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Malik graduated cum laude from the University of Rochester. She earned her medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and performed her residency in neurology at New York University Medical Center and Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University in St. Louis. She completed a fellowship in seizure disorders/EEG at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center.
Dr. Malik will see patients at Aring Neurology, located at the Medical Arts Building, 222 Piedmont Ave., on the UC Academic Health Center campus, and at University Pointe, 7700 University Court, West Chester, Ohio.
The Neuroscience Institute, a regional center of excellence at the University of Cincinnati and University Hospital, is dedicated to patient care, research, education, and the development of new treatments for stroke, brain and spinal tumors, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, neurotrauma, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson?s disease, disorders of the senses (swallowing, voice, hearing, pain, taste, and smell), and psychiatric conditions (bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and depression).
