Celebrate 20th Anniversary of Cincinnati Epilepsy Centerīs
Dedication to Excellence

CINCINNATI - Jon Zipperstein and Michael Privitera, M.D., will host "Toasting 20 Years of Excellence in Epilepsy Research, Education and Care" from 6 to 9:30 pm Sunday, Nov. 4, at Embers Restaurant in Montgomery. The event will raise funds for epilepsy research at the Cincinnati Epilepsy Center of The Neuroscience Institute at University Hospital and the University of Cincinnati. Zipperstein, owner of Embers, is a resident of Montgomery. Privitera, director of the Cincinnati Epilepsy Center and vice chair of UC's Department of Neurology, is a resident of Clifton.

The Cincinnati Epilepsy Center at The Neuroscience Institute, identified as a center of excellence by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers, cares for more epilepsy patients than any other center in the region and includes the region's only Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. The comprehensive program includes detailed evaluation, coordinated medical and surgical treatment, and clinical trials that make the newest therapies available to patients. It is known internationally for its role in developing new seizure medications and for its work in brain imaging.

The Neuroscience Institute, a regional center of excellence at the University of Cincinnati and University Hospital, is dedicated to patient care, research, education, and the development of new treatments for stroke, brain and spinal tumors, epilepsy, traumatic brain and spinal injury, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, disorders of the senses (swallowing, voice, hearing, pain, taste and smell), and psychiatric conditions (bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and depression).
