Contact : Kristie Luebbe 513-686-3014 Date: 9/29/09 Cincinnati - Join Dr. Elizabeth Weaver, Medical Director, Breast Center at The Jewish Hospital, for a free seminar on a topic that should be top of mind for every woman, especially in October - breast health. Whether it's for yourself, your daughter, your mother or your best friend, you should know the benefits of annual mammograms, early detection and what your options are if breast cancer is found. This free seminar will be held Thursday, Oct. 29, from 6 - 7 p.m. in Conference Room A/B at Jewish Hospital in Kenwood. Space is limited and registration is required. Secure a spot today by calling 513-686-4040. During the seminar, Dr. Weaver will talk about the causes and risk factors of breast cancer, how to detect breast cancer, current technologies, and what options are available to treat breast cancer if diagnosed. She'll also discuss The Jewish Hospital Mobile Mammography Program, self-contained 38-foot vans equipped with the latest digital technology that visit community and corporate locations to make screening mammography more accessible to the women of Greater Cincinnati. After all, early detection is the key to finding breast cancer and treating it successfully. The Jewish Hospital has been providing mammography services for more than 20 years and screens more women in the Tristate than any other hospital or imaging center. The Jewish Hospital Mobile Mammography Program was established in 1987 and performs more than a third of the hospital's total screening mammograms every year. Never been screened on our mobile van before? Having your records transferred to Jewish Hospital from another health care provider is easy to do. Ask for details when you call to schedule an appointment. All mammograms are read by the expert radiologists of Professional Radiology Inc. And, because a second look can mean a second chance, all of our mammograms are double-checked by the R2 ImageChecker, a computer aided detection system that detects 23.4 percent more breast cancer than mammography alone. Both the patient and her physician receive a copy of the results. The Jewish Hospital is an acute care hospital located in Cincinnati's northeast suburbs. It was established in 1850 as the first Jewish hospital in the United States and is part of the Health Alliance, an integrated health care delivery system.
