The American Cancer Society recommends that women have a mammogram every year starting at age 40. Screening mammograms are usually a covered benefit with most insurance carriers. For best coverage, patients should verify that The Jewish Hospital is an in-network provider with their insurance carrier. For women who are uninsured or underinsured (have high deductibles), financial assistance programs are available. Call 513-686-3310 for more information.

All mammograms are read by the expert radiologists of Professional Radiology Inc. And, because a second look can mean a second chance, all of our mammograms are double-checked by the R2 ImageChecker, a computer aided detection system that detects 23.4 percent more breast cancer than mammography alone. Both the patient and her physician receive a copy of the results.

The Jewish Hospital has been providing mammography services for more than 20 years and screens more women in the Tristate than any other hospital or imaging center. The Jewish Hospital Mobile Mammography Units were established in 1987 and perform more than a third of the hospital?s total screening mammograms every year.

The Jewish Hospital is an acute care hospital located in Cincinnati?s northeast suburbs. It was established in 1850 as the first Jewish hospital in the United States and is part of the Health Alliance, an integrated health care delivery system.
