Hamilton--The Fort Hamilton Hospital has opened a digital imaging suite inside the Carruthers Emergency Center to provide faster diagnostic tools for physicians and greater convenience for patients.
"Having our X-rays available digitally helps shorten the length of time emergency patients need to wait," says Jerry Kripal, M.D., medical director of the Carruthers Emergency Center at The Fort Hamilton Hospital. "Physicians and radiologists can view the X-rays instantly instead of having to wait for the films to be developed. In addition, the new radiology room is located in the Emergency Center, so patients will not have to be transported to a separate department to be X-rayed."
The Carruthers Emergency Center at Fort Hamilton Hospital recently doubled in size to make it one of the largest, most advanced emergency departments in southwest Ohio. It also features special services for children and fast track services designed to shorten emergency visits.
This addition joins Fort Hamilton's other radiology firsts achieved in Butler County in the past year, including a 16-image CT scanner with 3D capabilities and an R2 ImageChecker for computerized review of mammograms, as well as a new room specific for chest X-rays.
The Fort Hamilton Hospital is part of the Health Alliance, an integrated health care delivery system that also includes The Christ Hospital, The University Hospital, The St. Luke Hospitals, The Jewish Hospital and the physicians of Alliance Primary Care.
