Cincinnati - The University Hospital Auxiliary Board donated two brand new, state-of-the-art Mobile Intensive Care ambulances to Alliance Mobile Care. The two $150,000 intensive care ambulances will be used to complete inter-facility transports of critically ill or injured patients.
The funds for the ambulances were raised through the auxiliary's fundraising activities. "Our medical transport program makes more than 6,500 transport runs each year. With the addition of these new ambulances, Alliance Mobile Care will be able to continue to provide our patients with the most advanced medical transport care," said Kathy Badura, University Hospital auxiliary director.
Teri Grau, R.N., clinical manager of Alliance Medical Transport, said, "We sincerely appreciate all the hard work it took to make this donation possible. The hospital is very lucky to have such a dedicated group of volunteers providing us with the best equipment to care for our patients."
Alliance Mobile Care, part of Alliance Medical Transport, is accredited for all of its ground ambulance services by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS). To receive CAMTS accreditation, Alliance Medical Transport has passed a rigorous voluntary survey that focuses on patient care and the safety of the transport environment. The service is one of only 107 accredited programs in North America and one of only two to be accredited at three levels of ground ambulance services as well as helicopter.
Alliance Medical Transport Service is part of the Health Alliance, an integrated health care delivery system that includes The Christ Hospital, The University Hospital, The St. Luke Hospitals, The Jewish Hospital, The Fort Hamilton Hospital and the physicians of Alliance Primary Care.
