Cincinnati - Ruda Jenkins, R.N., chief flight registered nurse (CFRN) for Alliance Medical Transport Service, has been designated as a Certified Medical Transport Executive (CMTE) by the Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS). Among the medical transport executives, the designation is an indication of demonstrated skill in leadership and expertise in medical transport management.
To be eligible for this certification, applicants must participate in a rigorous educational program over the course of two years, pass a comprehensive written examination and satisfactorily complete a team project related to a timely industry challenge. Certification is valid for three years, during which time the certified individual must earn 30 Management Education Units to keep his/her certification current and to become re-certified.
The Association of Air Medical Services is the only international trade association serving the entire air and critical care ground medical transport community. AAMS strives to enhance the medical transport industry by promoting the highest level of industry safety: promoting quality patient care; inspiring commitment to the industry's work, causes and viability; and providing superior services to its members.
Jenkins has been an Air Care flight nurse for eight years and has been with Alliance Medical Transport Service for six years. She has also worked in the emergency department at University Hospital and is currently an active member of The University Hospital Diversity Advisory Council. She is a resident of Fairfield Township.
Alliance Medical Transport Service includes University Air Care and Mobile Care. It is the only transport service in the region that is accredited in four levels of medical transport by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS). CAMTS accreditation is the highest standard by which a medical transport service can be measured.
