Date: 11/17/2003 The American Heart Association presented the 2003 Dr. Peter J. Safar Award to Daniel Storer, M.D., Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course director at The University Hospital and medical director for the Alliance Mobile Care, at the annual Ohio Emergency Cardiovascular Care Conference Oct. 17. This award honors the individual who most exemplifies the mission of the American Heart Association ECC Programs. Dr. Storer was honored for his many years of helping to improve cardiovascular health care through active involvement and clinical practice in The University Hospital Center for Emergency Care and as a clinical leader for the ACLS and Mobile Care programs. "Dr. Storer's knowledge, dedication to education and quality improvement as well as his many years as chairman of the Emergency Cardiac Care Committee for the American Heart Association and The University Hospital have benefited health care professionals and the community for many years. I cannot think of a person more deserving of this award," said Dudley Smith, corporate director for Alliance Medical Transport Service.
