Barrett Cancer Center to Hold Health Fair for Cancer Patients

Cincinnati--On Sept. 15, The University Hospital's Barrett Care Center will present Strength in Knowledge: Understanding Cancer Care, an informal health fair and ice cream social outside the cancer center at 234 Goodman Street. This free event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open to cancer patients and their families. The goal of the event is to provide cancer patients and their families with a broad range of cancer care information in a pleasant setting. While enjoying free ice cream, participants will be able to ask questions and seek guidance and advice from a wide range of experts. Information will be available about clinical research, genetic counseling, nutrition, pastoral care, pharmacy, depression and support groups. There will also be an "Ask an Oncology Nurse" booth. Other organizations scheduled to attend the event are: The Alliance Institute for Integrative Medicine, The American Cancer Society, The American Lung Association, Cancer Family Care, the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society and The Wellness Community.
