Barrett Cancer Center Hosts Free Health and Wellness Fair

Cincinnati--The Barrett Cancer Center at The University Hospital is offering a FREE health and wellness fair for those interested in learning more about cancer, resources for cancer patients and cancer prevention, Sept. 20, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., at the Barrett Center, 234 Goodman St.
The event is called "Strength in Knowledge: Understanding Cancer Care" and aims to provide cancer patients and their caregivers easy access to the resources that are available to them and to educate them on important topics such as clinical research, genetic counseling, nutrition, pastoral care, pharmacy and support groups. Other organizations scheduled to attend are: The American Cancer Society, Cancer Family Care, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and The Wellness Community.
Another goal of the event is to promote the importance of early detection. The following FREE screenings will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis:
· prostate cancer screenings
· carbon monoxide levels for smokers
· full-body skin cancer screenings (11 a.m. - 1 p.m. only)
· facial sun damage assessments
· high-risk breast cancer assessments
