Fort Hamilton Hospital hosts Community Open House

Date: 9-18-2009Fort Hamilton Hospital's Outpatient Physical Therapy department relocated within the hospital to the Fort Hamilton Hospital Physician Office Center. The new location is accessed using the
Cereal Avenue entrance.To celebrate the new location and upgraded service features, the hospital is hosting a Community Open House on Friday, Sept. 18, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Those attending can enjoy tours, information, refreshments and a gift. Free Fall Risk Assessments will also be offered to anyone who would like to take the 10-minute assessment.
New features include:
· Easier access and more spacious surroundings.
· Virtual reality technology to address balance, agility, power and coordination.
· Cybex Arc Trainer which gives therapist the ability to focus in on key muscle groups and movement patterns.
· Child friendly pediatric treatment area designed to foster imagination while therapists focus on enhancing developmental milestones and functional abilities.
The Physical Therapy staff practices a hands-on, individualized approach aimed at improving each person's ability to move, alleviating pain, restoring function, preventing disability and promoting wellness.
