Date: 11-16-2009The Colleagues of Fort Hamilton Hospital are holding the annual Lights of Love ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. The event will be at Fort Hamilton Hospital, 630 Eaton Ave., at the front entrance of the hospital.
By purchasing a light, individuals can commemorate anyone and anything, including: a new baby, anniversaries, birthdays, Christmas, friends, Hanukkah, loved ones, relatives and more. People being celebrated will receive an acknowlegement card announcing their light and who donated it, a special invitation to the lighting ceremony, and their name displayed in the main hospital lobby throughout the holidays.
Lights cost $5, or seven for $30. A limited number of special snowflakes are available for $100. Those interested should pick up a Lights of Love order form from the hospital's information desk in the front lobby or call Fort Hamilton Hospital's volunteer services department at 513-867-2281. Forms are also available at www.FortHamiltonHospital.com. All proceeds from Lights of Love benefit the hospital and are tax deductible.
The lighting ceremony features special music performed by The Westover Prepatory School Children and the Ross High School Concert Choir, the lighting of the display and refreshments. This year's ceremony will also feature a check presentation to the hospital from representatives of Brown's Market who are donating the proceeds from their annual Charity Auction to the Fort Hamilton Hospital Gebhart Center for Cancer Care for the second consecutive year.
The Colleagues of Fort Hamilton Hospital are a group of dedicated individuals who organize fundraising activities and act as goodwill ambassadors for Fort Hamilton Hospital. Members of this organization are active volunteers whose work benefits not only Fort Hamilton Hospital, but also the entire community. The group raised more than $6,000 for hospital projects and equipment with last year's Lights of Love program. Funds from this year will be used to purchase critical care equipment.
