WCMC Gift Shop features Local Artists for Fall Harvest Festival

West Chester, OH - The Gift Shop at West Chester Medical Center is celebrating the season with a Fall Harvest Festival September 23 - 25. The event features specialty merchandise from community-based artisans and businesses. The Festival will run from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, plus 6 - 9 p.m. Thursday.
 
Special events during the festival include:
Thursday, Sept. 24

  • 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Dream Merchant Jewelry trunk show 
  • 7 p.m. - Reading and book signing of Last Minute Wilma and Her Toad Soup, by the author Jeanne Hayden, a retired teacher from St. Aloysius Gonzaga

Daily Events

  • Gourmet tastings of delicious snacks available at the Gift Shop
  • Door prizes daily
  • Local high school and college spirit wear sale

During the sale, shoppers will find not only the traditional assortment of inspirational gifts, greeting cards, flowers and stuffed animals, but also a variety of one-of-a-kind items created by local artists. 

"We believe having a strong bond with the community is what this hospital is all about," says Tammy Benzinger, retail services manager at WCMC. "Along with our health care presence in the community, one way we reach out is by showcasing local artists in our Gift Shop."

Featured artisans during the festival include:

  • The Many Faces of Deb Peters - Handpainted bags, notecards, and jewelry
  • Darla Kircher Designs - ceramic artistry and one-of-a-kind gifts
  • Shimmering Elegance by Peggy Sue Ciprian - hand-made jewelry
  • Usborne Books and more by Katie Klopfenstein
  • Little Dipper of West Chester - dipping oils, gourmet pastas and breads
  • Bugaboodles - hair bows and gifts

Many of the specialty products featured during the Fall Harvest Festival are also available regularly in the Gift Shop. The Gift Shop is also proud to sell pre-packaged and freshly-brewed coffee by locally-owned and operated La Crema Coffee, which prepares and packages its products in West Chester.

"It has been our hope that the residents of West Chester, Liberty Township and Mason will stop in to the Gift Shop for that one-of-a-kind gift or fashion accent. We are excited to be part of this incredible health care facility, and believe we help to serve the community the hospital serves," says Benzinger. 

The Gift Shop at West Chester Medical Center is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from Noon - 5 p.m. You can reach the Gift Shop by calling 513-298-SHOP (7467).
