Fort Hamilton Health Career Scholarship Applications Available

Date: 1-14-2008The Fort Hamilton Hospital Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for the Health Careers Assistance Program.
Since 1962, the Fort Hamilton Hospital Foundation has awarded more than $450,000 in scholarships through its Health Careers Scholarship Program. The scholarships are awarded annually to area students planning a career in health care. In 2007, $10,000 in scholarships was awarded.
Amy Pelicano, director of the Fort Hamilton Hospital Foundation, said, "This program has helped provide the resources needed to grow a new generation of health care workers in our community. Health care employees are unique and we feel a very strong commitment to supporting the education of those who choose to pursue a career in health care. It is an important and rewarding way to address the health of our community for the future."
Applications can be obtained by calling 513-867-2123. All applicants must be enrolled in a health career curriculum; be accepted by a college or university before the scholarship is awarded in May; be a Butler County resident; and have the completed application to the Fort Hamilton Hospital Foundation by April 15. Criteria for selection is based on financial need, grades, community involvement and extra-curricular activities.

Fort Hamilton Hospital has been serving Butler County residents for more than 75 years, and is part of the Health Alliance, an integrated health care delivery system of physicians and hospitals serving Greater Cincinnati.
