Cincinnati--The Drake Auxiliary recently named Xavier University freshman, Krysta Kluska, the first recipient of its Junior Volunteer scholarship. Krysta has volunteered at Drake Center for more than two years in the gift shop and as a patient visitor. She has also helped coordinate special events at Drake. "It's a joy to work with Krysta," says Volunteer Services Coordinator Wendy Morton-Green. "She is dependable and dedicated."

The new annual scholarship program was put in place to reward, through educational advancement, the efforts of youth who go above and beyond in their volunteer duties at Drake and who accumulate a minimum of 60 hours of service in an eight-month period.

Krysta attended Mt. Notre Dame High School and is a resident of Roselawn. She received the $1,000 scholarship at a presentation on November 16. Drake Center is currently in need of volunteers like Krysta who can work evenings and weekends in various roles including: gift shop cashiers, Health Care Resource Center staff members, transporters, clerical assistance and special events. Those interested can contact Wendy Morton-Green at 513-418-2522.

The Drake Center Auxiliary supports the mission of the Drake Center by enhancing patient services and community awareness through fundraising and patient activities. New members are welcome to join the Auxiliary by calling the number above.
