Health Alliance Announces Plans to Build New Hospital at University Pointe in West Chester

Cincinnati - The Health Alliance is planning to build a new 160-bed community hospital on the University Pointe campus in West Chester, Ohio. The University Pointe campus is located off Tylersville Road, near Interstate 75.

The new hospital, which is scheduled to open in late summer 2008, will offer a wide array of surgical services, outpatient services and imaging services, and contain a full-service emergency department, staffed 24 hours a day. Expansion to a 300-plus-bed hospital is planned for a later date.

Building a new hospital from the ground up gives the Health Alliance the opportunity to design a facility prepared for today and tomorrow?s technological advancements. "The new hospital will be paperless, high-tech and designed with physicians and patients in mind," says Ken Hanover, CEO of the Health Alliance. "We can design services to meet the shifting needs of our community while using remarkable, state-of-the-art advancements that physicians, staff and patients will appreciate."

The hospital is being built in an area of rapid growth, near the border of Butler and Warren counties. "By the time the hospital opens, the Butler and Warren county populations will have grown more than 10 percent," says Hanover. "We are excited about the possibilities of bringing our services closer to the homes of so many people."

The Health Alliance is planning to purchase 29 acres of land from UC Physicians and Miller-Valentine on the University Pointe campus.
