West Chester Medical Center names Chief Nursing Officer

West Chester, Ohio-West Chester Medical Center has named Julie Holt, RN, MSN, Vice President of Patient Services and Chief Nursing Officer. In this role, she will be responsible for all patient care areas for the hospital, which is expected to open early 2009.

Holt has more than seventeen years of nursing management experience. She began her career as a nurse at University Hospital in the neuroscience unit, where she worked for six years and rose to assistant manager on the unit. She joined the Health Alliance in 1996 as a clinical manager for Jewish Hospital, and worked nine years in management positions, with the last being director of patient care services. Holt moved to the Drake Center in December 2005 as Vice President, Patient Services and Chief Nursing officer, where she remained until October 1.

Holt holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Cincinnati and Master of Science in Nursing Administration degree from the University of Cincinnati.

Holt is a board member of the Hamilton County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, an international honor society of nursing; a university of Cincinnati College of Nursing Clinical Advisory Committee member; and belongs to several professional organizations including the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, American Association of Nurse Executives, Ohio Organization of Nurse Executives, and Greater Cincinnati Nurse Executives.

Holt is a resident of Delhi Township.

West Chester Medical Center, part of the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati, is a new 160-bed hospital being built in West Chester, Ohio and expected to open in early 2009.
