West Chester Medical Center names Vice President of Operations, West Chester -- West Chester Medical Center has promoted its director of operations, Ron Rohlfing, RRT, MBA, to vice president of operations. This position is responsible for quality and excellence within the organization. He will develop, implement and oversee performance and communication strategies for associates and staff, compliance with governing and regulatory agencies, and operational goals to support the hospital's strategic plan; among many other duties.

Rohlfing is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and previously developed Lean Processes for West Chester Medical Center. He has been with the Health Alliance from its inception in 1996, serving in a number of positions including operations facilitator, and operational and clinical process project manager. Among his many accomplishments, Rohlfing managed process-improvement teams for six emergency departments, developed and managed the operational budget for West Chester Medical Center, facilitated and directed architects and engineers in the hospital design, and coordinated the development of clinical, operations and retail programs for the new facility.

Prior to his executive career, Rohlfing was a respiratory care practitioner with The University Hospital. A resident of Erlanger, Ky, Rohlfing holds an associate's degree with a concentration in respiratory therapy from Cincinnati State College, bachelor's degrees in marketing and management from the University of Cincinnati, and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix. A registered respiratory therapist, he is a member of the Ohio Society for Respiratory Care, the American Association of Respiratory Care and the American College of Health Care Executives.

West Chester Medical Center, part of the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati, is a new 160-bed hospital being built in West Chester, Ohio. Conveniently located next to the University Pointe Surgical Center and medical office building, and easily accessible via I-75, the full-service hospital will blend the best in medicine, technology and service in a safe, healing environment. West Chester Medical Center will offer a 28-bed emergency department, and inpatient and outpatient surgical, imaging and treatment services. The hospital will open in early 2009.
