Select Accreditations and Firsts
The Health Alliance has many programs that have received notable distinctions or firsts. Some of these include:
The University Hospital
- The Tristate's first Level-3 Perinatal Research and Treatment Center for high-risk mothers and infants is located at The University Hospital.
Level-3 is the top level designation in the field.
- The University Hospital is the region's first and only verified Level-1 Trauma Center for adults. Level-1 is the top level distinction in the field.
- University Air Care is accredited with commendation by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (one of only six aeromedical
programs in the country).
- The United State's first emergency medicine residency program was established at The University Hospital.
The Jewish Hospital
- The Jewish Hospital was the first Jewish sponsored hospital anywhere in the United States.
- The Jewish Hospital offers the only dedicated inpatient cancer care unit in Greater Cincinnati specializing in adult stem cell and bone marrow
transplant.
- The Jewish Hospital was the first hospital in southwestern Ohio to perform open-heart surgery in a suburban location.
The Fort Hamilton Hospital
- The Fort Hamilton Hospital was the first Butler County hospital to receive the designation as a Level II Childbirth Center.
- The Fort Hamilton Hospital was the first in Butler County to receive designation as a Cancer Care Treatment facility.
