Ken Hanover joined the Health Alliance in May of 2001 as president and chief executive officer. He came to the Health Alliance from the Main Line
Health system in Pennsylvania, where he had been CEO since 1996. He led the effort to grow that system's broad range of acute, long-term and
rehabilitative, home health and primary care services into an integrated system of health care delivery that met the needs of the community in the
system's service area. Main Line, which is part of Jefferson Health System, includes Bryn Mawr Hospital, Lankenau Hospital, Paoli Memorial Hospital,
Bryn Mawr Rehab, Community Home Health Affiliates, Great Valley Health Physicians and other related subsidiaries.
Mr. Hanover began his career working for the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania attaining the
position of vice president for policy and regulation. His experience also includes the Legacy Health System, a four-hospital system in Portland,
Oregon, where he rose to the position of chief operating officer.
Mr. Hanover grew up in Framingham, Massachusetts. He received a bachelor's degree from the
University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a master's degree in public administration from Cornell University. He is a diplomate of the American
College of Healthcare Executives, a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Greater Cincinnati, a member of the Commercial Club of
Cincinnati, a member of the Health Insights Foundation, Chair-elect of the Greater Cincinnati Hospital Council, and is active in the American
Hospital Association.
